During your internship, you will meet people—whether it’s welcoming them to our loving church, or offering support through our community outreach. You never know who you’ll meet or how a simple act of kindness can change someone’s life forever.

We truly believe that faith isn’t meant to be stagnant—it’s meant to grow, stretch, and deepen. As an intern, you’ll have countless opportunities to build a strong spiritual foundation as we provide an excellent grounding in church life through weekly services; ministry and theology through our weekly Bible Study classes, Alpha Course, Take a Step Course, and missions through outreaches and evangelism.

How we support you

Our interns are provided with mentorship and coaching, as well as practical ministry experience. During your internship, you’ll gain both soft and hard skills for ministry and workplace leadership. We can provide reference and recommendation letters after your internship if you need it. This is not a paid role but we are happy to reimburse expenses if necessary.

INTERNSHIPS FAQS

    • Admin Assistant (Onsite or remote): As an Admin Assistant, you’ll help manage church records, schedule meetings, handle emails and correspondence, and support church planning systems. This role will give you valuable experience in administration while contributing to the smooth running of the church.

    • Operations Assistant (Onsite only): In this role, you’ll assist with setting up church events, ensuring Sunday services and other weekly meetings flow seamlessly. You’ll help with resource management, logistics, and general church maintenance, working closely with different teams to support the church’s operations.

    • Kids Work Support Assistant (Onsite only): Do you have a heart for children and love to make learning fun? As a Kids Support Assistant, you’ll help organise and run kids’ church activities, engage children in creative teaching, and provide support to families. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe and exciting environment where kids can grow in their faith.

    • Media & Communications Assistant (Onsite only): If you’re creative, tech-savvy, and passionate about storytelling, this role is for you! You’ll help create engaging content for social media, design eye-catching visuals, and assist with video production. You’ll also support email communications and newsletters, ensuring that church updates and testimonies are shared in a meaningful way.

    • Ministry Assistant (Onsite only): As a Ministry Assistant, you’ll get hands-on experience in outreach, follow-up, and supporting people on their faith journey. You’ll serve alongside our pastoral team, help lead small groups or prayer times, and play a vital role in helping people feel connected and spiritually supported in the church. If you are passionate about evangelism, discipleship, or front-line ministry, then this role is for you!

  • As an intern, you will have the opportunity to serve in various roles within the church. Whether it’s helping with our Sunday services, supporting community outreach, assisting in media and communication, content creation, planning events, or getting involved in worship, kids work, and operations, you will gain valuable hands-on experience for ministry and the workplace.

  • There is a lot of growth opportunity in serving here at The Higher Place—and a lot to learn! But first, you will grow in your faith, develop practical ministry skills, and gain leadership experience. You’ll also learn valuable life skills such as team work, problem-solving, communication, and time management. There is more than enough room to learn and people to teach!

  • We welcome applications from anyone aged 16 and above who is passionate about growing in their faith, serving others, and gaining ministry or workplace experience. No previous experience is required—just passion and a desire to grow in faith!
