Our Story

The Higher Place was launched on the 16th of July, 2016 at Devonport House in Greenwich. We worshipped at Devonport House for about 6 months and we moved to one of the rooms at Charlton Athletic stadium. We spent 2 wonderful years there building deeper roots – some of the members from those days are still with us till today.

In 2019, God provided a way for us to move back to central Greenwich at Greenwich Students Union where we currently are.

Through prophecies and dreams from God, we’ve felt God saying that we were going to mobilise thousands under the banner of the local church for a move of God and that this would be a multicultural and multigenerational church.

We felt God anchoring our ministry with verses like Habakkuk 3:19 – where we got the name of the church from; Isaiah 2:2 which is where we got the multicultural and multigenerational dimension of the church from; Isaiah 41:10.

We love being part of something much bigger than ourselves!

We are members of Evangelical Alliance and the Single Friendly Church Network.
